FAQs
1. What should I wear to the wedding?
A- For women, a comfortable dress (cotton is perfectly fine), a cute jumpsuit, or any outfit that would look great in photographs. Please avoid wearing shorts or jeans.
For men, slacks and a button-down shirt would be appropriate. Kindly refrain from wearing shorts or jeans.
2. Am I expected to be with the group for the whole cruise?
A- No, not at all. We want you to enjoy your vacation to the fullest. While we would love to spend time with you after our wedding dinner, we understand if you choose to participate in different excursions or activities. It's our honeymoon as well, so we plan to have some activities just for the two of us.
3. Are we expected to bring wedding gifts for Sarah and Alex?
A- When we say your presence is enough, we truly mean it. By committing to join us on an Alaskan Cruise, you have already given us a wonderful gift. We sincerely appreciate that you want to share this special time with us. If you do still want to provide a gift, at the bottom of this webpage is a "honeymoon wishes" link. There you can look up our registry that is specific to the cruise.
4. Are you holding a reception at all?
A- Absolutely! In June 2026, we will be hosting a reception at the Freight Shed in Yorktown, VA. We will provide more information about the hotel block and a confirmed date in January 2025 (as bookings can only be made 18 months in advance).
5. What excursions are you guys planning on doing?
A- While we are still finalizing the details, Sarah is really excited about doing one of the train adventures in Skagway, the Goldbelt Tram in Juneau, and kayaking in Ketchikan. Alex, on the other hand, simply dreams of seeing a moose. It's his ultimate wish!
6. What should I pack to wear on this cruise?
A- It's important to be prepared for all kinds of weather on this cruise. While Seattle may be 80 degrees, Alaska can be as low as 40 degrees. So, layering is key! Additionally, for the excursions, we recommend packing comfortable clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. Don't forget a waterproof coat to stay dry in case of rain.
7. I have kids coming. What can they do?
A- We have plenty of activities for kids to enjoy during the cruise! They can join the kids club on board and take part in various excursions suitable for their age group. Additionally, there are fun activities like go-karts and laser tag that they can participate in. While there is a pool on board, it might be a bit chilly for swimming in Alaska. Rest assured, there will be no shortage of entertainment options to keep the kids happy and engaged throughout the journey.
