Transportation to the Cruise Ship

We will provide transportation by private bus from the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection to the Cruise Terminal.

If you are driving to the hotel you should plan to drive your car to the cruise terminal instead of taking the bus because parking at the hotel is pricey ($42 a night).  Parking at the cruise terminal is $22 per night.  The garages take cash, VISA, AMEX, Discover or any major U.S. Traveler’s Check.  There are many discount lots around the cruise terminal; I have not tried any of these lots, so I cannot personally recommend one.  If you choose to use a discount lot, make sure you read the reviews online prior to picking one.

Check in to the Cruise Ship

Cruise Line: Norwegian Cruise Lines

Cruise Ship: Norwegian Sky

Port: Port of Miami

Ports of Call:  Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay

Dates: November 9- November 12

Direct Phone Number: 954-514-4333

Group Number: 637867

Make sure you check in online before sailing because this dramatically saves on time.  You will get print outs from the cruise line to attach to your luggage.  The cruise line brings your checked bags directly to your room.

You don’t see your bag between the time we pull up to the curb and it shows up at your room door.  For this reason, you may want to bring a carry on bag with you, and it is normally a good idea to put a swim suit in here, medication you need, and of course your travel documents like your passport or drivers license and birth certificate.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME CASH TO TIP the baggage guy a couple bucks at the curb.  Tipping will ensure that your luggage tags stay on the bag and you get your bag timely.

On the Cruise Ship

Cocktail Reception

From 1:00-3:00pm there will be a cocktail reception for our group on the ship (Norwegian Sky) in the Outrigger Lounge.  There will be a DJ.

After the Reception

This is a good time to explore the ship or get in your swim suits.  Your rooms should be ready by the time we are done with the cocktail reception.  There is always a safety drill before we leave port, so that should be sometime between 3:30-5pm (keep an ear out for this because it’s mandatory).

Dinner

We are planning on having dinner at the specialty dining restaurant Cagney’s Steakhouse that evening at 7pm.  The specialty dining is normally extra money however, included with the group cruise should be the free specialty dining and free prepaid gratuities (I know some people got different information or different options).

Norwegian won’t let us make reservations for everyone otherwise we would have done that.  If you would like to join us, please make your reservation for Cagney’s at 7 or around 7pm (depending on availability).

(For Saturday we are doing Le Bistro at 6pm and Sunday we are doing Il Adagio at 6pm.  You are also welcome to join us those evenings as well if you like.)

Open Bar

Remember this is an open bar ship and the drinks are included on the private island as well.

We can tell you from experience if you bring some cash and tip the bartenders extra as you go along, you will get your drinks faster (but that’s up to you).  They don’t make you sign for the drinks since it’s completely open bar, so there’s no way of adding an electronic tip.

Getting off the cruise ship in Miami

For those who are flying out the morning of November 12, generally the quickest way off the ship is to carry your own bag out.  Otherwise, you put your bag outside your room the night before and they take it off for you and you pick it up at baggage claim in Miami.

There will be a line at customs once you get off the ship, so plan on that with your travel plans.  Contact one of us if you have any questions.
