We met during our freshman year of college, both swimming at Pacific Lutheran University. Through those 4 years we went through spurts of supportive friendship and really struggling to see eye to eye. We knew when to stay away from each other, and when it was okay to regain friendship.

We shared a lot of similarities that were conveniently ignored on both ends throughout our college years--a love for weightlifting, copious amounts of ambition, a heavy, or what some may consider an offensive amount of sarcasm, red meat (and all Irish foods really) and an inability to fall asleep at a normal human hour.

About 6 months after graduation, Darcie visited Colorado to see both Carli Snyder (HI CARLI) and Cody. We spent around 8 hours together exploring Denver, and the time flew like it was nothing. The last 4 and a half years begrudgingly rolled their eyes at us as if it couldn't have taken us any longer to figure it out. Darcie decided to fly back out about a month and a half later. That same weekend she had a job interview and was chosen to be a head swim coach in Denver; she moved there two (extremely stressful) weeks later.

Since then, we have moved to a nice little apartment with asbestos ceilings and a mint green bathtub. We abolstuley love it, and are very excited to get married in the middle of a giant body of water, even though I don't think either of us remember how to swim.
