A long time ago in a galaxy far far away... just kidding. Our story is less romantic than a movie love story.. however no less special to Jeff and I. We met on a hot day in March while covered in blood, sweat, and gunpowder. In an agency with over 1000 sworn Deputies the chances of randomly having the same person in in-service training is very rare. Jeff and I however had the luck of being in training together two years in a row. The first year I had no idea who he was or even cared for that matter. It by far was not “love at first sight”. My first opinion of Jeff was “who does this guy think he is showing up to training late and acting so full of himself”. Little did I know this arrogant jerk would turn out to be the love of my life the following year. The next year I saw this same guy walk back into my training and figured he would be the same know it all. By the third day of training Jeff and I were joking around and talking non-stop. this arrogant guy didn’t seem so bad after all. Surprisingly we had a lot in common and the laughter came very easily. The training then ended and we both went upon our ways. In May I received a random email from Jeff asking for a “wing man”.. however I saw right through this and knew he was asking me out on a date. The rest is what they call “history”. What started out as friendship eventually became true love. We are now about to embark on the next chapter of our lives as husband and wife and can’t be more excited. As we take this journey we can’t be more thankful for our friends and family.
